The Panyee Players
The TMB Panyee FC. A group of boys who loved soccer. Growing up in Panyee though they couldn't always play. Panyee was very crowded. So they made a place, a place where they could play soccer. They gathered wood and made a platfor. There was nails sticking out of the platform, the ball went overboard and the goals were small. Overtime they got better and so did there footwork. Then one day a boy came with a flyer. A flyer to win a Pangha Cup. Even with their regrets they played in the cup. Before they left they realized the whole village of Panyee, Thailand had been watching. Some of the villagers came with them. They also gave the boys gear. When they got their they realized that this was different from Panyee. They won first game which made them happy. They made it to the semifinals. At halftime it was raining. They were down 2-0. But then they took off their boots. The rain on the ground felt like the platform. They tied the game. But in the last minute the other team scored and won. They still followed their dream and that is the moral.
The Joys of the End of School Trimester Reflection
I can hardly believe it school is almost over. I remember so many good things. My favorite was getting to do prezis', getting a blog, finishing both book challenges, getting a computer (not technically mine), seeing my friends, getting to work in groups and much, much more. I also think that the work was much harder this year. Like history yet still I still loved history and enjoyed it. Especially since I led my team to victory.
The hardest thing for me was science. I was never really interested and I wasn't hooked. That's what makes it hard for me. Next year I plan to work harder and put a smile on my face. History was also hard. In the beginning my team only had 5 people and we had to focus if we wanted to win. (We did win.)
I don't really have any more thought for summer or for sixth grade. I am going to stay focused and be ready for whatever test comes my way since it will probably be mostly test.

The True Story of the Old Lady who Lived in a Shoe
There was an old lady who lived in a shoe. She had so many children she didn't know what to do. There was Bob, Barry, Larry, Mary and who could forget Skippy McGee.
Since it was the last day of school Jerry popped a question in his little country voice " in middle school I am a floor above 5th grade. Does that mean Miss Flapper Jack disappears."
"Well not exactly dear." the old lady exclaimed with her cackling chuckle. "She will just be downstairs teaching the twins Skippy McGee and Larry."
"The old lady gave Jerry a mickleberrey sandwich and Canadian white strawberries and sent him to school with a " Bye, Bye and no bottles of rum, no drinking under twenty one." Then Larry and Skippy McGee came up to the door and their question was different. Not close to the same. They wanted to know If they would ever see Billy Jane ever again.
"Well she'll just be at Moshiva. But you should be happy you get to go to S. A. C. Shoe Adventure Camp." the old lady croaked because admission was half off. Then the kids went to school with their fresh Oreo soup which they secretly hate. For dessert they had some liverwurst cake.
Then bob walked up going to 2nd grade he had no question but he said "when I am home from school we will spend everyday of summer together again.' Then a toad hopped out and answered nothing but hopped up and down with glee, and flies.
Then Bob said "don't forget to feed Gary the fish. Lastly, make sure it's definitely the teaspoons and a tablespoon too.
Then with Mary the final child going to Kindergarten she said " What if I can't spell or read better then my friends like Mary Joe, or Mary Anne or even Mary C."
"Don't worry sweetie" the old lady said. "They might read better and spell better, but you might run faster or jump higher or learn quicker just relax."
"Well in that case goodbye Mommy" Mary said. She ran off so quickly she didn't just stride.
Then the old lady croaked out, "don't forget your scoop tart and your apple, orange and pear." Then Mary ran back grabbed her lunch and giggled I forgot.
" Well now it's just you and me Barry. Ho ho ho" the old lady laughed it's time for your nap. So she gave him some broth without any bread. She gave them all kisses and sent them to bed.

Plane in Peril
One thing that I thought was very interesting was the one about endangered animals. There is not a real reason why I thought it was interesting but I got hooked in. But one of one of the many things that I thought was impressive was the ways we learned that when one animal becomes the animal next in the food chain will blow up. That animal will make the next animal will become very small which will mean the species that blew up will not have food to eat and they will become extinct and so on and so forth.
When I see this problem I think that this problem should be stopped. What they are doing I think helps but they should do more. Making a law will help but there are still people that will break the law so they can make money or medicine. One of the solutions would have the people make their own money.

American Revolutionary War Techniques
What were the "techniques" the colonists used to start a revolution between 1763 and 1776. Do you think the colonists could have achieved Independence with out these techniques?
The Sons of Liberty. We got together as an organized group and made a vow to refrain from doing business with the British. The reason they did it is because we didn't agree with the British rights and laws. We don't agree with the British we want our rights.
,_The_Bostonians_Paying_the_Excise-man,_or_Tarring_and_Feathering_(1774).jpg)
Then there is the taxes. The sugar act, the British lowered the taxes but made more. So we got mad rampaged and the British got mad back. Declaratory act since we should make taxes ourselves and then they got mad.
The Boston Massacre and the Boston Tea Party. We rampaged because of them and they defended themselves. for the Boston Tea Party we dressed up as the Mohawk tribe and threw 342 chests of tea into the Boston Harbor. We do think the colonists could have achieved Independence without these 2 techniques but not without all the techniques they did.

Math Night
As you might know math night was a short while ago. Maybe you were there and saw what 5th grade did. At math night we did a fruit salad equation. You might not know what that is. The had to take fruit and they had to equal 16/16 of 1 whole. We also did a game on the whiteboard sadly I don't know what it was called or what you had to do. Three in a row was a game too. You had to make fractions equal. The blue group did something totally different. I was in blue group. We had to make graphs to see which style of plane went furthest. We threw the plane and measure the feet it flew.
There was nothing I didn't like. There was a lot of different things you could do. Like, golf, build a crane etcetera. The only thing that made math night better is that I won a prize.

The Simulator
In class we are learning about the Revolutionary War. Since it is a lot easier to learn something in someone else's shoes, like the saying walk a mile in someone else's shoes. So we are doing a simulator. My name is Thomas Singleton Painter. I am a teacher a deist and the chairperson for the patriots.
There are many things that I like about going through simulator. Like seeing how hard it was having everyone against you. Not being able to talk to your friend without one of us saying I'll give you 50 pows if you join us. I forgot to mention that pows are what we use for money. I also want to say that may also be my favorite part. Seeing how hard things were. Not really understanding what it was like.

Baron Von Steuben a Great Man
The British was
surrounded. The commanders of the continental army, George Washington, Comte de
Rochembew, Marquis de Lafayette. But none of this was possible without one man
Baron Von Steuben. He gave us a new attitude. Baron Von Steuben helped us win
the final battle at York Town by changing our tactics and teaching the American
army the close combat battle of bayonets. MrNussbaum.com wrote about Baron Von
Steuben being discharged from captain so he went to Benjamin Franklin. Ben had
an “immediate liking to him. Ben wrote Von Steuben a letter of recommendation
and sent it to George Washington”. After Baron Von Steuben came he changed our
attitudes and made us warriors. Later we had a battles with the British and
finished the war thanks to Baron Von Steuben. Friedrich Wilhelm Ludolf Gerhard
Augustin or Baron Von Steuben died November 28, 1794 as one of the most
respected man with his legacy of helping us win the war by teaching us close
combat and giving us a better attitude and more hope.

Science Expo Roles
Recently we had a Science Expo. For the Science Expo we split the class in two halves, eco-columns and visuals. I was on eco-columns team. For the eco-columns I was captain. For captain I had to help people if time was almost out and they needed help I helped them. When we didn't have graph I helped someone make one. (With the help of Mrs. Ambrosio.) Although I didn't go to the Science Expo I only heard that it was awesome.

Literary Essay Self-Reflection
The thing that I was most proud of was making a lot a quotes. Another thing that I was proud of is that I made a lot of comments about the book and making them in to real life moments. I also did that very well. I think so because I kept getting the book and taking things from the book and in to my essay.
One thing that was hard was that I was writing about the book but it wouldn't prove anything. Like when to the teacher. She said that I am writing about the book but not really explaining it very well. But I did enjoy getting to type my essay because I love computers.

Narrative Self-Reflection
I enjoyed writing about my do since he was a great dog. It was fun to write about my dog since I no one knows what happened to him. My strengths are that I wouldn't forget my short time with Jake. That is good. Another thing is that I am a fast writer and I type fast. I type fast since I went on the typing web.
It was hard for me to finish the writing piece because I don't like to talk about what happened to him. The reason is because Not very many people talk about giving their animals away. What I enjoyed was writing a bout the happy times with Jake. Since then I can imagine it happening. I would give a lot for Jake.

Because of my dog
It was a fairly cold day. It was slightly
foggy. If you looked out the window you could see quite far until everything
became white. Any ways you wouldn’t want to look out, all there was, was sand.
Then, there was a gigantic building.
You would walk inside and it was colorful,
radiant, cheerful building. There was grass and dogs and one door, the cages.
Each cage filled with dogs massive, miniature, skinny a different dog in a
slightly rusted cage. In each cage a food bowl a water bowl and 3 to 4
toys.
My dad was walking, but I was scampering
quite fast. Then it hit me a rope I picked it up and gave it back to the dog.
Before I could throw it he grabbed it. I shot up my hand he licked it. I petted
him and at that second my father and the guide came.
I asked, “What is his name.” Then I saw the
card on top of his cage said Eric. Then I asked “are you going to put him “to
sleep”.”
“Yes”, the guide answered like he was going
to cry.
So I shrieked as if I saw a mouse “I want
him”
I waited two weeks for “Eric” and it was so
pleasurable the day we got him. I was so blissful and merry that magnificent
day. When we got there, there was a lot of paperwork I just sat in a chair and
almost had a catnap. Then it happened the secretary left and when she came back
Eric was with her.
My dad asked “do you want to rename him.”
“Definitely”, I said in a snap. Then there
was a silence. “Jake Black, since he’s a black dog and we saw a movie about
Jack Black, so Jake Black.” Finally we took him home. We had a tiny car so we
let Jake sit on us. His fur was like silk and on his chest he had a white spot
like lightning. I had and incredibly good valuable time.
When we got home we
gave him something to munch on and he devoured the treat. Then we gave him a
lamb. We put it down on the ground. He started moving forward but, instead of
devouring it like my sisters dog he picked it up by the ear. He walked around
as if it was a kid. We put down other toys. He held the lamb and walked right
to me. He jumped on me. It felt like an enormous mountain crashing on to me.
With on lick my whole face was wet and he dropped the lamb on my face. Then
with two teeth he picked up his lamb and lied his mammoth sized body on me.
It
turned out he wasn’t a year old he was a few months old which was why he
couldn’t walk well, so he waddled around a lot. I played with him for about an
hour then I watched some television. I sat down on the couch and he darted at
me and jumped higher that the couch and landed on me. He reached down picked up
his lamb. Then Jake, his lamb and I watched television together.
A few days later I took both dogs outside I
had a Frisbee and a ball. I threw the Frisbee and Maggie my sister’s dog flew
through the air jumped in to a wall caught the ball and came trotting back.
Then it was Jake’s turn, I threw the ball and Jake sat there but Maggie ran
jumped through a swing and caught Jake’s ball. Jake sat there and looked at me
confused. That night Jake sat down on my face and rested his body on all the
pillows and at that point I knew he was too young to know how to walk, to catch
a ball and too young to know that when I push him down to my feet he shouldn’t
climb back on my face.
I was having a magnificent time with both
dogs. I threw the ball and it was about to go over the fence but Maggie ran and
jumped into the wall and came limping back.
I opened the screen door and yelled “MOM!!!”
She came and helped Maggie up the steps, I petted Maggie.
Jake walked inside this time it wasn’t at me.
He ran at Maggie leaped at her and scratched her across the face. He just kept
jumping at her. Later we went to the vet and it turned out that Jake was a one
dog family so he really hated Maggie. This happened a lot. Then one day I came
home from school and he wasn’t there. He attacked Maggie so much so we had to
give him away. Now I still don’t forget the best dog I ever met. (To bad the
farmer that bought Jake didn’t tell us where he lives.) Still these are some of
the best days of my life, and it all happened because of my dog.

2nd Trimester
There are many things I am proud of. One thing I am most proud of how well I can understand something and learn the lesson quickly. Like we were learning about median, mode and mean. All we were able to do to learn the lesson we watched a video and I was able to understand it. I was able to understand things without help.
One thing I am not proud of is the same thing I want to improve on that thing is I rush through things and make silly mistakes. like I rush and my seven looks like a one. Or I will skip a question while I am working so fast. I think that if I slowed down I think that I wouldn't have to turn my work in over and over.
I think that I have been very good at math. I know that since I understand how to do the problems. Also since I am able to do the problem. I think that it is also not just being able to do the problems but being able to know what I am doing not just three times five equals fifteen..
One thing I should improve on is not rushing through my work. Like when I have to comment five times and I want to play I forget to write my name or who I am writing it to. Or when I know I can work on something I would rather do and don't change my mistakes.

Change is Good
Change can be a good thing. Like when you move and get your
first friend. Or if you’re homeless and someone gives you a home. That’s what
Opal and Winn-Dixie did for each other in Because of Winn-Dixie by Kate
Dicamillo. Opal and Winn-Dixie changed each other’s lives.
Winn-Dixie was Opal’s first friend. Like in the rain Opal
told the Preacher “Winn-Dixie’s out there somewhere. We can’t leave him.” If
Opal wasn’t Winn-Dixie’s friend she wouldn’t have said that. That is one of the many things Winn-Dixie did
for Opal. You know Winn-Dixie changed Opal’s life since Winn-Dixie helped Opal get
friend Here’s why, she never would have met Otis if she didn’t have the by a
leash. Otis had an impact because he taught her things, like not to go to jail.
Another reason why is, she wouldn’t have met Gloria if Winn-Dixie hadn’t ran
in. Gloria had an impact since she told Opal friends say they want to be in
different ways. Then Opal became friends with Dunlap and Stevie. There are many
more ways.
Winn-Dixie would have
been taken to the Pound. Opal was there and took in a homeless dog, but if she
wasn’t they would have taken him to the pound. That isn’t the worst part, if
Opal wasn’t there and Winn-Dixie escaped, Winn-Dixie would be homeless. He also
would have no food.
Any kind of person or
animal can change your life. Winn-Dixie helped Opal get friend and Winn-Dixie
and Opals friends filled her up. I know since when she talked to her mom or the
tree Opal said she’s better now and that she has friends. As I look back when
Aidan came he filled me up. Aidan was my first real friend, here’s why, my
other friends took advantage of me. It felt bad to know my friends liked me
because I have a new toy.

Meaning of the Story
Although I am not done yet I can see that the moral of the book, Justin Case Shells, Smells and the Horrible Flip Flops of Doom. I think the moral is to be brave. Since it is about a boy who is afraid of nearly everything. In the end he stands up for something he didn't want to do, just as he was about to be cool.
I knew this since Justin doesn't like this game called knuckles, but instead of giving up to be cool he stood up for himself. He told them that he wanted to play bang bang a game he made up. He didn't have to do what he didn't want to do and things still worked out. That is one of the things he did that summer.

Litmus Lozenge
In the book Because of Winn-Dixie Mrs. Franny who compares Litmus Lozenges to life. She says this since a Litmus Lozenge is a cant that is sweet and sad. Mrs. Franny takes what she knows about herself and Litmus. Litmus had nothing after the war not even his family. After the war he wants a candy so he makes one, the Litmus Lozenge. A candy that is sweet and sad like the war.
I agree with this point of view. I say this since at one point at life something was sweet and at one point something was sad. Like when I met Aidan and had a great time. A sad part was when I lost my both my dog and my sister's dog.

Winn-Dixie
The preacher has changed a lot of the book. In the beginning of the book Opal said "I think of him as the preacher". So she thinks of him as a preacher not her father. She also wants "the preacher" to spend more time with her. Not rubbing his nose thinking his hardest like it says he does.
In the end of the book the preacher becomes more caring for Opal. In the end when Winn-Dixie gets lost the preacher immediately runs and helps Opal find him. It says that the preacher walked "through downtown". He did that not only because he loves Winn-Dixie but since he saw how much Opal loves him. When Opal said he was probably run over he helped him through her fears.

Island Wood
We recently went to Island Wood. In Island Wood is a school in the woods, but not just any school. We were woken up at 6:45 and had to do what we usually do in the morning at home, from 6:45 to 7:25ish. Then we went to breakfast, I helped set up breakfast once. We went to Tefilah soon after breakfast, then left for our daily activities. At 4:30 to 6:00 we had lodge time, which meant free time in our lodge or just outside of it.. After lodge time we went straight to dinner at 6.
After dinner we went to our nightly activities and then more lodge time at 8:15. At 9:00 we went to our cabins inside the lodge and at 9:25 it was lights out.
My favorite part of Island Wood was everything. I say this because when I was hungry I was so excited about meals, when I wanted my space the space walk was awesome, when I was feeling adventurous the canopy tower was great. By great I mean about 200 steps of great. Or, when nothing cool was happening, holding a crab lifted up my spirits.

Showoff
Showoff by Gordon Korman is an extraordinary book. This book is a realistic fiction book. I'm saying this because it is a book about a Griffin or The Man With the Plan, who tries to save Savannah's dog. When Savannah goes to a dog show Luther her dog attacks another dog. Griffin has a plan to save Luther by getting him to win the dog show. See if he is successful. If I had to rename this book I would name it Best in Show since when a dog wins a dog show. See if Luther really wins.
While I was reading the book I was still wondering if Luther would really win. I was wondering this because Griffin isn't very good at training dogs and Griffin is very young and a kid. I was reading and I thought that Griffin was going to be watching Luther when Luther attacked another dog. I think this because Griffin is scared of Luther and I thought that Griffin would get scared and drop Luther's leash. I didn't think that Savannah would drop the leash because she also has a monkey a bird 3 cats and 3 other dogs. So I thought she would have had more experience.

Self-Reflection
As you know we did Environment articles. Mine was how pollution was killing animals. What I think that I did really well at is getting more and more facts. Like when I thought I was done when I had some free time I found another website and was able to get three more sentences. I was also very good at making topic sentences. At the start I was able to make my topic sentences fairly quickly, the hard part was keeping the paragraph going.
For my next expository writing I will edit better because when I was typing my paragraph up I saw that I was forgetting the e in more or a g instead of an f in life. I can fix that by editing with a more careful eye.

Pollution Kills Life By Gabe Ruskin
Scientists have
found a whale with 20 or more plastic bags in its stomach. Almost all animals can die from plastic. Animals can die from every kind of pollution. Scientists say pollution can have DDT and
PCB. When the fish eat these the toxins
and we eat the fish we eat these toxins too.
Will you still litter or help? Pollution is affecting the Puget Sound in
a very bad way.
There are many
different kinds of pollution. Such as
oil, yard waste, pet waste and so many more.
75% of this pollution gets to the Puget Sound from rain water that
carries the pollution down the sewers. Anything
can be a pollution anything from car keys to not taking your car to a car wash.
Everything can
be affected by pollution. A baby seabird
was found dead since the mother ran out of food and had to feed their son/daughter
plastic. Sometimes animals have to do
that when they ran out of food.
Basically a lot of animal can die from pollution whether it’s choking on
plastic. All the different kinds of
pollution are horrible.
You might wonder
how pollution affects animals. Pollution
can kill a lot of living things. It
could choke and animal. (Plastic can do that’s.) It could even suffocate an animal. (Plastic can also do that.) The pollution problem got so out of hand that
city councilman Bill tried to ban plastic bags.
(It is banned in other states.)
Now we have to pay 5 cents for a plastic bag.
Remember, be the
one that picks up litter when you see it.
What would happen if everyone picked up one piece of garbage? Representative Joe Fitzgibbon tried to save
Puget Sound. I care about saving the
Puget Sound. Think am I the one saving
the Puget or am I killing it?
