Hannukah

I think that Hannukah is all about miracles.  The miracle of the oil when the oil that was supposed to last one day lasted but lasted eight.  The second miracle was the miracle of the war.  When we didn't have nearly as many warriors but still the Syrian Greeks who had a army.  Even though there might not be miracles like the ones that happened there.  There is always miracles My miracle was I had the terrible twos and survived the blood and the trips to the hospital.

I watched this video and someone got people to write what their miracle is and show it in the video.  Miracles can be big like it said that someones heart stopped for 10 minutes and lived and is healthy.  But someone lost 100 pounds.

What is your Miracle?

First Trimester

I have enjoyed many things about general studies but my favorite thing (next to recess) is writing. The reason I enjoyed writing so much is because I was able to sit at my desk and review all the things Mrs. Anderson's class and write.  I can get rid of all the noise (sometimes) and just work.  That's why I love writing.

I think that I am good at math.  I think that I am really good at math because I usually get most of my work done and I always finish my tests with a pass on the top right corner.  I think that I am really good not just because I can pass a test but because I can understand a skill quickly or learn something quickly.  I learned how to increase and increase percentages in 5 minutes.

I enjoyed about everything.  I enjoyed everything since I am going to learn and learning will make me smarter.  It has made as smart as I am today.  That is why I enjoy everything that I have done in school.

Although I like everything I think I could improve everything.  I am saying this because I can always improve.  The way I will get smarter is by listening the same way everyone can improve.

What have you enjoyed in school?
What do you want to improve in?

Cousins

I have a lot of cousins.  Some older than me some younger and one newborn.  I have Beryl, Shani, another Shani, Tzvi, Abi, Sidney and so many more.  They are all great and I wish I could meet them all.  They are all really great and they each are great in there own way.

That is a picture of one of my cousins named Josie.  Although she lives in Portland, Oregon we get to see each other a lot.  She is actually going to be coming for Chanukah.  It's great when we get together on Chanukah.

  Who are your cousins?

When do you get to see them?

First Blog

It feels great to have a blog.  The only thing that is better than having a blog is being the first to have a blog in the class.  It took a while to get the blog, we had a sheet of paper that said what we have to complete.  Some things we had to do was make three blogs that use the cite or media.  Another thing we had to do is make three comments.

I t was really hard to earn.  Now that I have this blog I knew all the work that I had to do was worth it.  Everyone is almost done and I know they will finish soon.  This has been a learning experience for everyone and I know that everyone will love having a blog (or at least the people that are in my class.)

                        Do you have a blog?

Book Fair

At my school we are having a book fair.  We have two one at the beginning of the year and at the end.  They have a lot of new books.  They have Diary of a Wimpy kid Hard luck.  They have a lot more than that but I don’t want to name all the books.

They also have some toy erasers and of course some more fun toys.  The book fair couldn’t have been finished without Bob to put everything in place.  Of course we couldn’t have done it without the librarian to help.

Do you have a book fair at your school?
Do you like the book fair?

Out of My Mind

We have been reading Out of My Mind.  We just heard that Penny was run over.  It is very sad but we all know she will live,  so does Mrs. V.  I think they were taking things to far I know that Melody missed her flight  but they have two kids and they weren’t watching the two or three year old.

I think they should have listened to her or at least let her type something in the medi- talker.  They always say she is smart, and the one time they get upset they hit her.  They also should have noticed something was up when she went from wanting to go to school all the way to having a fit for sitting down.  Even if it was for a reason the reason couldn’t be bad.

Ecocolumn

At class we are making ecocolumns.  If you don’t know what an ecocolumn is, an ecocolumn is a terrarium on the top and an aquarium on the bottom.  In the aquarium we have fish, snails, elodea, duckweed, gravel , algae and of course water.  In the terrarium we have crickets, dirt, grass, leafs, twigs, rocks and anything we could find outside.

On Monday we finally got our fish and our crickets.  My partner and I got a white fish about 3 in. long.  Our cricket is like everyone’s.  The only thing that we got that no one else did was we got a worm it then gave birth to babies and now we have a bunch of tiny worms floating around.  I hope the fish doesn’t eat them one by one.

Have you ever had a fish?
Have you ever had a bug?

Don't Judge

You shouldn’t judge a book by its cover like when Dr. Hugely judged Melody and thought she was dumb.  So did Mrs. Buillups.  When they didn’t tell her the plane left they thought she was dumb and didn’t invite her to the team breakfast.  It would have been hard to be friends with Melody.  Would you have been friends with Melody?  Would you have judged Melody like because she looked weird.

I would have been friends with her.  I might say hi when she comes in or I might help her down the steps.  I am completely truthful when I say this.  It would be hard to be her friend but I wouldn’t do what they did to her.  Making fun of her and leaving her and not telling her until after the competition.  One time I was playing football with my best friend and two fifth graders (no offense to me and other fifth graders) and we had fair teams.  The fifth grader who was on Aiden’s (Storm one of my friends in Albuquerque) team left because he didn’t want to be on Aiden’s.  He didn’t want to be on Aiden’s team because he thought he was bad at football since Aiden had glasses.  Now Aiden is the second best quarterback on his team and the best wide receiver from my opinion.

Auggie (August) was also judged and treated wrong because he didn’t look like them.  That is how Melody and Auggie are alike, they both know they’re normal they just wanted to be treated normal.  Auggie can do everything normal but no one will give him a chance to do what he can do.  Unlike Auggie’s best friend Christopher, everyone has a Christopher someone who would do anything for you.  No matter what you look like or what you do your friend will stay by your side.

Everyone gets judged at one point and all you have to do is hope someone will be a up stander.  Like when Mrs. V stood up for Melody at the aquarium.  She was being and up stander and stopped Claire from judging and calling Rose weird for doing something nice and hanging out with Melody.  Even if Melody was a little weird.
                          Have you ever been judged?
Did someone stand up for you?
                           Would you have judged Melody?

Best Friend

Everyone has a best friend, I have a lot of best friends Sam, Binyamin, Ben, Daniel etc. but my best best friend is Aiden.  We became friends in the middle of second grade (we would have been friends at the start of the grade but he was new and I was just getting to know him).  Everyone has a best friend.  Aiden and I have been through a lot together we played football, basketball, soccer and just about everything since 2nd grade.  We even used to have sleep overs for up to 6 days in a row 4 days at his and 2 at mine (we picked him up from school on the 5th day)  We have been through hard and easy.  One day we even had to run around the building to dodge a bully (it turned out to be a bush).

Aiden and I have been best friends for a long time.  Aiden and I have been by each others side for a long time as much as we could if not every single time.  I also don’t need to think for a second that nobody could replace Aiden and no one could have the spirit that he had.

Who is your best friend why?

Science

In science we have made eco-columns.  That is an aquarium under a terrarium.  We have many biotic features such as fish plants and even bugs.  We also have many abiotic features such as dirt and water.  We have many biotic features that have given birth.  Like our worm when we got her she hatched an egg (it died because it fell and got buried under the dirt).  We also have a worm in the terrarium she is pregnant I know because she had a pouch and I know that means she is pregnant because they taught us at a farm.  Many things have died by now such as our fish and many of our isopods.

In our eco-columns everything depends on each other.  The crickets need the grass as food.  The snails need algae to eat.  The plants in the water need the snails carbon dioxide which is what snails give and the snails take the oxegyn which is what the plants give.  The bugs in the terrarium use the dirt to burrow and shelter like some bark and rocks that we have.

Do you have any living or non living thing you depend on?
Have you changed over time like our aquariums?

Mightier Than the Sword True Bravery

Mightier Than the Sword is a book that I would give 4 1/2 stars.  In every story there is someone who does something that is remembered.  Everyone starts out with a problem but they fix it.  There was one story that a man Abdul goes to work but fails finishing and has to do seven years of work instead of getting 1,000 rubles.  When his brother goes to take the bet the way his brother did hoping to at least he would get through more than his brother did.  Now wonder what happened or read the book.  Another story is a poor farmer who just uses his fox to hunt for food soon gets lonely.  His pet fox helps him and he gets a castle becomes rich and marries a princess.

Everyone has a personality that is brave, faithful and strong.  I say this since they always stay strong no matter what they always have the best story about them.  It’s either a little boy getting to school and sees a knight but instead just walks up to him and pretend like nothing ever happened.  Or when someone faked being what he isn’t and whenever he got scared he said “I am brave and I have faith” if his friend said something he wasn’t sure about.  There are many stories that about great successful people who become grater than most people I have ever met.  Unless you became a king after being the poorest farmer in the world.
I think I can relate to them since I want to be grater than I am now.  With more bravery and with more faith whether it’s trusting my friend or lying to the most famous king in the world knowing that it could mean my head.
Would you have been as faithful as these people?
Would you like to read this book?

Mathletic

In class we do mathletics.  On mathletics well of course we learn math of course.  It's great way to learn math and there is a lot of math games that teach you to count or to teach you how to increase percentages. It can teach you almost anything.  Plus every week they pick a mathlete of the week and to be put in the raffle you have to get 1,000 points in a week.  To add to that they have top 100 in the world.  I have once been 3rd in the world.

Not only can you learn for one person but a whole class can learn.  Plus you can have a teacher online to teach you and assign you things that they think you should review or learn.  If you don't know how to do the math problems you click on the question mark and then on the arrow to teach you.

Do you want to go on mathletics?

Do you think you like mathletics by what I told you?
